There was a calm
Never seen before
Only my beating heart

You-
You-
Leave me hopelessly

In love...

Yet, we are apart
Why-
Why-

I long...
For your fingers
Touching, exploring

Am I part of your life
Or just a memory of many
Do not forsake me

Our last kiss was tender..
Lingering...
You said you loved me... ... ...

I see it to be dialogue in a daytime soap...it's a compliment to The Bold and the Beautiful, Deb...the female soap star I can hear saying these lines...sometimes to sell poetry, we have to put it in other formats and package it in a different light...poet today, soap writer tomorrow...

I can relate so well to this. I hope it all works out the way you want it to and if it doesn't I pray you a speedy healing.

Love ya!

Glad I never had to experience such a loss of love, it would have devastated me. Powerful poetry that grabs at the heart and won't let go.

Such heartache within the lines of this very sad, but somehow the words you write are not written with complete defeat. You have gathered lines of wanting and hope within the questioning of "You said you loved me." Beautiful, Deborah.
