Truth be told...always from my heart

I loved you from afar
Very hard to do
Wanting an up-close
I was the wild one,
Obstacles were there
I had become reckless
Did not care-
When I looked into the mirror
Your face was always there,
I can now say
My anger was the devil
In disguise-
Only you,

It took five years
Of realization,
I ruined
What I had with you... .. .

Sounds so familiar. I can hear the regret. Why did it take so long. Not the right time? Wasn't ready. I reallyllike this poem and the way you handled regret. Great job.

This is sad.. It took 5 years before you reliaze one's importance.. You really wouldn't know ones worth until it's gone..

I really like, "wild ones," but they often become destructive. And then they're not very nice to be around. Your obsession has played out for a long time in your poetry. Hopefully someday your wild nature will be tamed in happiness.

It is obsession that can smother that which a person loves the most. A good lesson here.

Love ya!

These things happen sometimes and one does not even realize what one is doing. I think a lot of us can relate, Deborah. Love and best wishes,
