This is a poem about a relationship - caring - love. |
|
Hands -
Large - brown - strong hands.
Hands that broke down doors
in white, hot, infernos -
Reaching the screams inside.
Hands that craddled
wailing babies -
rocking them gently
to your soulful lullaby.
Those hands that squeezed - caressed -
embraced my body -
Finding each corner -
playing a melody
while we harmonized in the night.
Your hands smoothed back doubt -
massaged pain that
wouldn't release
its hold
on me. '
Hands attached to a body
even the Greeks would have envied.
Most of all -
your hands, in mine -
gave me peace -
serenity -
and love.
