Easter Memories

From under a broad-brimmed hat
Peeks the face of an Easter angel, sweet
Sparkling eyes, a basket for eggs
Patent leather on both feet.

Cameras flashing, dads and moms dashing.
The family is all lined up in a row.
"Smile, everyone!" The sun is shining.
It's off to church we go.

Eight little children, all dressed the same.
Mommy made every dress, by hand.
Pink, yellow, blue and green.
It's the Easter Parade… and it is quite grand!

4/11/04

Happy Easter, everyone! love, katy xox.

Dang I used to hate that when mom used to make them dresses all the same and I had to wear one with the other seven kids. I'm very much a pants wearing kind of guy. trust me on this.

Wonderful nostalgic write, Katy! Hope you had a nice Easter day; I did, but I had to work, and couldn't make it to church. I was NOT happy!

My parents took a picture of me on an Easter Sunday before we went to church. I must have been 6 or 7. I was wearing a blue suit and holding my hands out like six-shooters. Back then Robert Conrad was my hero. And wearing that suit made me feel like I was in the Wild, Wild, West.
