Yea Chanti
Drink is the Devil's Brew....
Agree with Lady below ,a breakup is much preferred to years of anguish and abuse...which destroys the very soul...I truly sympathise...one of my sisters suffered the same agony..she eventually broke from him after years of trying to cure this fatal addiction..was the best decision she ever made...

its so often the case......but a breakup is better than yrs of abuse......is that your picture on the other poem? Its lovely......

There are myriads of "intoxicants" that tempt and consume one.
The liquid kind of which you speak, is bad, but sometimes even
worse are the intoxicants one cannot see, but only feel...
Like love...which brings an addiction from which we may never recover. |

Chanti - very evocative and flows well. Like all addictions, this 'mistress' is really enslavement...slavery of our own choosing, but with effects just as lasting and detrimental.
Enjoyable read.
