A Lesson on Living and Dying

I. First Flight
Abandoned baby lark, having no advantage of parental instruction,
flaps and falls and flaps and falls and flaps again
managing at last to push off the ground
and just keep going.

      Life
            makes a way
            for those who
            flap their wings,
                        to fly.

II. Final Crossing
Caught unaware, a red fox crossing a country road mangled,
distracted by headlight glare. Unseen by driver in a hurry
who forgot to look with care at what seemed
familiar road ahead.

Death

comes calling
            when we lose
            sight, look but
                        see not.

Another unique and powerful write, Dawn, that draws some fine analogies here. You capture our minds and attention - but also our hearts. The visual is amazing: is it a trompe de l'oeil that the eyes actually move? Very clever! Bless you, too, for the beautiful message you sent - a real bouquet, thank you! Kate xx

Very keen observations, composed into excellent poetry, Dawn!

I especially like:"Life
makes a way
for those who
flap their wings,
to fly"
