60 degrees
a gentle breeze
slender shrouds
of soft white clouds
floating by
in a baby blue, blue sky
a Sun shining bright
with The Sun's bright light

plants & trees
with new green leafs
flowers blooming anew
kissed my the morning's dew
seagulls, sparrows & a blackbird or two
there,
in the air
or striding across the ground
in search of food to be found

the soft sound
of the waves as they kiss the shore
returning to the sea forever more
and across the bay
there lay
a million stars
reflected near & fars
the light
of the bright
Sun's ray

a sweet "Hello"
from a pretty young thing,
soft as the sound of Spring
her old dog & she,
she called him "Joe",
as she passed by me
his coat was pale yelllow,
that i could see
but all i heard was her sweet "Hello"
that and the sound of the sea

then as i turned around
homeward bound
i heard a sound
as i walked along
i heard a song
and i found a history
a long lost memory
with all it's joys
The Beach Boys
"Little Surfer Girl"
it took me back to a different world
a younger time
before my Life had lost it's Rhyme

i saw a man
standin' behind an old brown van
with it's back hatch up
he was lookin' up
into the sky
i wondered why?
so i looked up too
and there in the sky so blue
was his kite
there in flight
colors of red, blue & white
with a single star
there in the sky
so far
i watched it fly

i flew back again
to when
my Life had just began
to a younger world
of "Little Surfer Girl"
and flying a kite
waiting for my Life to take flight

and so today
or maybe tonight
think i'll go buy me a kite
so once again i might
take flight
and if someone should say
"Go Fly a Kite"
i'll just say
"OK!"

and as i watch it Fly
i'll remember times gone bye
as i watch it's flight
i'll remember this write
and the time
of my Rhyme
of my Kite
in a different world
of "Little Surfer Girl"

Steve, I find kite flying quite spiritually rejuvenating. It brings out the child, the kiddie within and the energy of 'playing' is soothing to the soul. We, adults, don't play enough as it is. So, yes, go fly a kite and take that child who lives inside with you.

Hugs,
Mari
