Love blinds and mutes the senses
Removes all doubt and life’s pretenses
Numbs reason and rational thought
Constricts and restrains the shoulds and oughts
Hearts pump faster and fibrillate
To touch and smells our bodies create
I feel myself sinking into this hole
With doubt and worry I become the mole
Your magnetic presence engulfs my soul
Transforms my spirit now daring and bold
I leave my world of certainty
To enter a space called eternity
No rules and roadmaps to this place
Where people live without a trace
Feelings and emotions no longer exist
Replaced by numbness in this abyss
My mind explodes into shooting stars
Where spirits soar to places far
Anxiety overcomes and takes me down
A path of uncertainty I’ve never found
Vulnerable and scared I dare to move
In this strange place one cannot prove
Finally I yield and gasp for air
And succumb to a world of hope and prayer
