This poem is about being an Addict and receiving help through NA which is Narcotics Anonymous. I know of a few of you poets out in the Den that belong to this group besides just me!
I thought I had kicked this habit back in 2000-2001 but I just recently had a Second brain surgery to remove a lesion and the doctor over in Paris, France put me on Methadone of all things for pain! I did not find out it was methadone till returning to the States and realizing I was "hooked".
So, I was recommended to the best place in Texas to a small hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas and they were excellent! I am now attending 90 meetings in 90 days or more than that if I am able to.
I went to my first NA meeting last night close to where my Mom lives in Tarrant county.
I am back in Dallas county today though and shall go to the one recommended tonight at 8pm.
Life is better and different and I accept my higher power!
He has the control box, not me!

Who are we? Addicts of course! Barely functioning in the Real World.
Drugs we seek, many kinds, we want to snort it, inhale it, push it, shove it, or pop it in!
Then, we sink to a NEW Low!
The fortunate get Help, like I did.
NA becomes "Home".
Giving it up to God, Oh Yea!
Tweleve Steps, I believe!!!!!!
