January man

Tonight my
chemical sidekick
proved to be
worthy of the name

as I race with
shards of
sun light over
roofs of my
blunt disrespect

I dunno whether
smoldering rubble
and wet wicks
define the start
of a new end

or if deaf trash
pollutes more than
I can ever hear
instead

the street's like
an oyster
all bumpy and shut tight

and I wish
my blade would
cut these lines
faster

while I wait
for this first day
to shine bright.

Interesting write Richard. I especially loved the lines
'the street's like
an oyster
all bumpy and shut tight'
So vivid and descriptive.
Thanks for sharing.
