Ceramic Tales and Peppermint Whales

Refrigerators decorated with memories
are so hard to please
I search each one I meet
to see the journey they tell.

On this one is the trail of where a Family has traveled
where along the way
the people unraveled.

Torn bills and letters, movie stubs,
plastic magnets and alphabet letters
all tell a story
of love's lost glory.

Do you look at the fridge and see
what has become of you and me?
I see delicate angels and colorful advertisements
pictures of us so long ago
where did we ever go?

Upon the place of glory
this all tells our story
our friends, our family, our pains
and our gains.

Take them down and start all over again
This would be my advice to you,
my friend.
Then once again, the story will mend
as it delivers
the new tales of life
amidst the cold surface
of our strife.

The love must keep the yellowed, torn slightly
very lightly pictures that are hanging
the love poems and jokes
I hung there for you
as you passed by without care
never seeming to notice they were there.

Outstanding poetic composition. A depiction of reality with a message of wisdom. "Ceramic Tales and Peppermint Whales" is a
golden page to shine in the Basilica of the Poets through the millennia.

I salute You, Poet!
