Often we are overcome with the burdens of being hurt in the past. In Matthew 11 in the Bible, Jesus offers to take on our burdens

Heavy of heart and loaded within
Carrying the burden of another’s sin

Where do I go with this burden so heavy
Where hope seems hazy and life so unsteady

Come to Me a voice whispers so loud and so clear
Come to Me with your burdens for I am right here

If you hand them all over and listen to Me
Together we’ll walk and you will be free

My yoke is pure love; this we must share
And when burdens befall you call me in prayer

And you will find rest; rest for your soul
For I’ll carry your burdens
With Me you’re made whole
