Become a Fan

Looking out the window
at the night outside:
a lone streetlamp
shoves darkness aside,
revealing hidden mysteries;
a cat stalks the
shadows, leaping
at bugs;
cars sit, quiet now,
in neat rows
in the parking lot;
occasionally,
skateboarders clack
down the sidewalk ...
and I sit, writing
poetry about it all.
