Half Moon River and a Golden Child

J.Allen is just a few miles north of Sunburry and Half Moon River, His latest postings gave my poetry a jolt.

This is a frame of my time with young Mason, a golden child of nature and my home on Half Moon River along the barrier islands of coastal Georgia.
~SKdeV~

Spring is in the air and on the marshes everywhere
Walk of humid miles to miles upon this marsh a golden child
Born of Earth with cheeks of roses nose held high as Earth reposes
Tiny footsteps barely speaking upon rocks with sneakers squeaking
Finding pebbles here and there, laughter whispers deep to share
Eyes glued on a Great Blue Heron...wee green orbs, two pair for sharing
Tiny dimples tell it all from the heart of this wee one...small
Fingers spread a wet palm out, "Squirrels eat these?" he squeals and shouts
Then his curious side gets wild as a laugh breaks free from this glowing child
Marshes, nature, evening stroll...
Hands of wisdom a woman holds
A wand of pleasure for a child who walks these marshes wet and wild
Pickup stick of oak and moss... but for a boy a thing to toss
Painted Buntings add more color to the fireflies light that flutters
Magic walk of peace and serenity lessons for a young one's Divinity
Evening shadows start to dim when two deep shadow's walk descends
Upon this river creatures swoon as night falls down upon Half Moon.

An innocent child with a playground of wonder to wander--squeak, squeak.

Why am I thinking Half Moon Bay south of San Francisco?

Excellent writing Susan...it truly gives the feel of the area though I have been unable to tear myself awy from the miles and miles of desolate beach and dune. There are so many things to explore in this wonderful land, and nary enough time to do so...yet there is always hope...thanks for opening the eyes of this traveler...well done piece.

Ah ... the innocent eyes of a child.

How much wonder there was in life when we were young and unsullied in spirit and soul. Such depth you plumb in your soul Belle when you write, and seemingly so effortlessly too.

Such a heart as yours knows no bounds ...

The simplicity and virgin honesty of this poem as seen through both the child's and the adults eyes is intense and startling. Susan this one makes me want to be there walking, watching, laughing and appreciating the beauty of your home and of this child. Sweet.
