just wishing i would go back to that time you know..

Back when i was carefree
when the world was mine to see
when peace merged with harmony
when the night was still young
back when i was eager to learn
all the righteous ways of our society
before i became one of their property

Back when i knew i would be liberated
before good became bad and bad became good
Back when the truth would set us free
when i was still naive
back when we lived in the dark ages
trying to find our way through lifes mazes

Back when love was reciprocated
before hate and anguish was created
back when i welcomed the dark
when i didn't know where danger lurked
when we were a unified nation
back when we showed our appreciation

Back when tears were a good sign
before i began to whine
about the injustices suffocating our world
back when i smelt the fresh air
when all my secrets lay bare
back when we allowed nature to take it's course
before destroying our enviroment without remorse.

Is it a crime?
For me to want to turn back the hands of time?
and capture that beautiful scene
when we loathed the killings?
when we still had feelings
for our society?
If we really are in the 21st century
why are we acting like savages
and going back to the dark ages
are we moving two steps forward
or taking two steps back
but i wanna go back
back when releasing my emotions through poetry
did not offend anybody
back when me and you acted like human beings who cared for each other and loved one another.
oh!back when
