Car Troubles

Driving down a country road miles from anywhere ,
Music on the radio turned into dead air .
Somewhere in the engine there seemed to be a fault ,
The car slowed down and finally came to a halt .
I started to push the car up the road ahead ,
I’m sure the kangaroos thought I was off my head .
I reached a hill and I could push the car no more ,
So I got back inside feeling sorry and sore .
I turned the key and guess what ?
It started for me .
On the road again but no it wasn’t to be .
For at the top of the hill the car stalled again ,
So down the other side I free wheeled in the rain .
The hill stretched out quite a long way in front of me ,
Thank God, somehow I got through this emergency .
A friend along the way gave me a helping hand ,
And he drove me half way home to a taxi stand .
