One Day At A Time

When doubts flood your mind
And you don't know what to do
When pressures crowd your soul
And the sun can't shine through
When you feel you walk alone
No one to hold your hand
When darkness shrouds your mind
And no one understands

Take it one day at a time

When going home seems to hard
And two jobs get you down
When the hours get too long
And a hug just can't be found
When time moves so fast
And you are standing still
I'm with you in spirit
I know how you feel

Take it one day at a time

When your longing is great
And you need someones touch
You need arms to hold you
Thats not asking too much
When happiness seems to elude you
And nothing goes your way
When shadows cloud your mind
Of the ghost of yesterday

Take it one day at a time...

I really needed this today. I feel that God lead me to this poem. In going through a very difficult time it helped me.

Thank you!

Well written advice for all of us is found in this most comforting piece of wisdom. Your philosophy is sound and your rhyme and rythm accentuate the posivity in the message. Great work!

I agree with you. I've been living a day at a time for a long time. Tends to be that way as we grow older.

Great advice, Linda!
I've learned that almost anything is possible if we just take it one step at a time with our eyes focused on what it is we want.

And a reminder: We are never alone. God is everywhere. Be still and listen.

Wise, philosophical and yet...with a shadow of sadness, like a little child feeling lost for a fleeying moment until he or she finds againg the hand of the mother.
One day at a time...like that panickly second?

Wonderfully wise and intelligently and compassionately said. I sometimes find myself in situations where I have to remind myself to take it an hour at a time. . .or a moment! Sure it has happened to you. The only way we get through is to stay in the moment, yet not let the moment weigh on us, right? Especially important not to borrow trouble from an imaginary future!! Such a beautiful write my friend, this would be an excellent card for a friend...or even a wonderful poem to frame to remind us from time to time that He is always with us, even when life seems to get too hard, or we feel that no one cares, or sometimes just get tired of trying so hard. Outstanding, uplifting, and very compassionate, enjoyed this much...a keeper for me!
Blessings,
