Looking for the "Spring"...

My heart beats slower now,
Since the frost has settled in.
It chills me down so deep,
To my emotions too tenderly set.
No longer soft to the plow,
No longer able to begin,
And no longer able to weep,
For the tears are all frozen wet.
I once was young and full of hope,
I once believed in happy endings,
I once thought love a gentle thing,
And so looked forward to it's hold.
Now I see that just to cope,
So often need to sway with bendings,
Bowers that have no wings,
That shrivel in this growing cold.
And so I wait for gentle spring,
To warm my veins and arteries,
To fire again my heart's desire,
And give my hope a warm refrain.
This is the hope that I will cling,
Ignore the dark affronteries,
And be there when I can inspire,
A heart not beat in vain.

The warmth of Spring on both our minds this chilly January day...well done, James, love the write and pic. :) Brrrr...looks colder than the 31 degrees outside my window. 'Course, we don't have all that snow, either--missed us.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
