The journey has been extremely long
And I still have so far to go
I find myself wishing
That I had known you many years ago
Maybe it would’ve been an easier trek
If I wouldn’t have been all alone
I may have soared so much sooner
If only I had known
I didn’t know that you were there
Searching for me as well
That all these years you and I
Had secrets we couldn’t tell
Deep-rooted passions
For our philosophies and books
Learning lessons from nature
Along the paths that we took
I’ve spent so many evenings
As the night overtakes the day
Staring at the moon and stars
And, to think, you were the same way
Our minds are so in tune with each other
We dream the same dreams
The longer we’re together
The more similar we seem
I know we’ve met before
That’s the only way to explain
These indescribable feelings
Which course through my veins
Now that we’re together
I recognize the signs
Finally I understand the phrase
A meeting of the minds
Our connection grows stronger
With each passing day
It amazes me how you can touch me
From so far away
