Was It Me?

All the people I see on t.v.,
Are all as happy as can be.
Was it me?
I await the day I’ll be your queen.

Was it me that turned you away?
Was it me that made you say, “sorry maybe another day”?
While my mind I can betray,
As I wonder why you didn’t stay.

I know deep down that I still bleed,
I can’t escape the fact that maybe it was me.
And I knew I loved you so,
Even though I was filled with woe.
But still you were there,
A perfect pair?
And still I swear,
That no one can compare to you.

So was it me that made you cry?
Was it me that made you sigh?
As in the sky a burning ember,
Whilst I try to remember,
In the deep November slumber,
While we encumber.

Was it me that made you fall?
Was it me that heard your call?
Was it me that made you cry?
Was it my turn to say goodbye?

Tell me please, was it me?
