As hot as it has been in Texas, 'rain cooled air' is good for a laugh. I share this poem with the belief that good things do some in our darkest hours, sometimes when we least expect them, and the knowledge that grief can be overcome with faith, nemories and a good support system.

A breath of comfort in the rain|
A blessing, unforeseen
Found in a time when life seemed vain
And sorrow filled each scene
The chill upon the air was nice
A sign that change was near
This momentary paradise
Spoke of goodness, sincere.
A time of peace amid the storm
A sign of things to be
An angel who took human form
To spread some joy to me
A treasure through the clouds and wind
Brought light amid the dim
Yet, when the light had reached its end
My thoughts returned to him.
For one short moment, yes... I smiled
The healing time is slow
One moment, sad; the next, beguiled
And still, the truth won’t show
Deep down, I sigh and wonder why
When grief is much to bear
Then, smile, as the angels’ pass by
Bringing the rain-cooled air.

Jill--although I've been gone I've been trying to keep up on things.
And I have kept you in my prayers.
You encouraged me to write--to write the words--to work through it.
Glad to see you are taking your own advice.
This is a great "work in progress" piece.
Almost an ironic feel.
Really nice--RaeLynn |

Jill,
Liquid refreshment in your lines - need a lot of rain cooled air to stifle the oven that is North Central Texas - it was 105 today. 105! No wonder I'm melting, melting ........ well done, my friend. Especially meaningful, since we're both still missing our Daddies ...
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. |
