The Dawn

The glow by the first light |

Today, after years, I welcomed the dawn,
the sun being drawn out slowly of its nocturnal shell,
was like a glow, shy in coming, yet not able to stay away,
and I was like the morning dew, waiting...
and whilst it spread across the sky,
a riot of colours came alive, by the first light,
a symphony floated across to me, of joy,
and breathless, I viewed it, listened to it, rooted!

You bring this moment to life, Smita. Excellent similes in the first verse. By the time you began the second verse, I felt as though I could feel the sun reaching toward me. Loved it. Hugs,
