A cold and pitiless wind moves among us,
A current of current rising from epochs old.
Can we sleep serenely and without fear when
Amid stirrings of horse's hoofs he smiles?
Beneath primordial moons deviously does plot,
Time is of no value, eternity has evolved.
Without the ticking sound of the life's clock,
Snorting Arabian steed's anxious for the fight.
Poised on every shore, peering into windows,
O, so stealthy, when at last the moon has hid.
And the tide washes up, deposits combatants,
They come, by air, luxury liner, banana boat.
By the soles of their feet, souls of their God,
Like residue from a growing, fanatical storm.
What blood moves through these warriors,
Which provokes bloodlust as easily as a smile?
He is there, over there, here too, right here,
Where the children are at play with yesterday's
Values, yesterday's view, yesterday's excitement?
When the tongue and eyes of the ancient ones
Speak softly, gazing upon the long awaited prize.
The thundering of million's of hoofs let loose,
Neighing a battle cry to the dead, silent old ones.
And we, well we go about our business of sanity,
Thinking we are good, we are clean, we laugh.
Calmly we do leave the doors and the windows
Ajar for our enemies who are now neighbors,
To finish the ancient martyr's settling of scores.

It seems that we are afraid to say what needs to be said. The enemy has infiltrated our ranks...and it is the very politics of the military that prevents our clearing the enemy out. It is time to let the Generals run the military and stop with the political spawn that will allow us to be attacked from within. Politicians call it profiling, soldiers call it weeding out that which threatens them. We need to change our point of view or face more of the same. Okay, off the soap box for me, Jerry. This is outstanding and I read it a few times, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because there was so much that was right with it. I needed to allow it to seep deeply into my being.
Take care,
Sherry |

To write of trajedy and know the underlying repetition of life is to see beyond the norm, there are those who would have us sit and feel the comfort of life, yet we all know the reality of figthing for freedom...it will continue until the day the world accepts us for being...this country was fought for and is still fighting for every word we speak, we write and for everyone who understands...
Freedom is worth fighting for...
Let us not forget who is killing who...and who are the ones chanting...Death to America... |

| I think John has the best response. And while I think your words resonate truth it is clear that maniacs and murderers, of all human degenerative types walk among us. The Salem witch trials are not an answer. That said I wish the first responders had had better aim. patrick |

No reason, no sense, just so much pain for so many innocent people.
The worst of us kill the best of us.
I can't say what I think of this, but I can thank you for this expression of our pain.

Amen. Yeah, and when I saw your write I knew that I would 'appreciate' your thought and views. I too am bitter and angry and I want answers; not that I'll ever get them but they are here. They are here on our land wearing our military uniforms and I don't think I will ever ever trust that. I said it before and I will say it again, we are in deep do do and the stink is getting chokingly strong.
You know this write is worth a mint. You know there are those of us that have followed you for years and we know where you stand. Keep standing Jerry.

| I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING JERRY, BUT TAKE CARE...WALK CAUTIOUSLY, LEST THE SEED OF 'PARANOIA' TAKE ROOT AND MANY INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE HARMED...IN OUR MINDS AND EVENTUALLY BY OUR ACTIONS. I AM WAITING FOR THE FINAL ANALYSIS BEFORE I MAKE ANY RASH COMMENTS BECAUSE AT THIS POINT...ALL WE KNOW IS THAT A 'PSYCHIATRIST' LOST IT. AND WHEN WE CONSIDER THE LARGE AMOUNT OF RANDOM MASSACRES THAT HAVE OCCURED IN THIS LAND OF OURS BY AMERICANS WHO 'LOST IT' I THINK WE CAN SURELY AGREE THAT 'BREAKDOWNS' CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE,...REGARDLESS OF NATIONALITY, COLOR, CREED. LET'S DON'T GET 'ALARMED' BEFORE WE KNOW ALL THE FACTS. YOUR WORK IS DYNAMIC...AS ALWAYS AND ENJOYED...AS ALWAYS. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |

| Well-titled....we should neither laugh too loudly, nor leave doors and windows ajar....there is no guesswork when it comes to the wind's intentions. Good job expressing your (and many peoples') feelings here Jerry. |

Jerry, like no other writer on AD that I am familiar with, your words so often take on a chilling beauty. Not that there is beauty in the subject of which you write, but the beauty of the choice and placement of your words. The anger apparent. The onslaught of those so fanatical that the taking of innocent, human life has no meaning other than to appease their vengeful god so well drawn here.

Jerry,
The only hope we have is God is above taking notes on all this craziness, one day he will roar and say enough is enough. I am looking forward to that day.
