Blimey, I'm getting old. I can remember them playing the news of his death at school. Until then it hadn't occurred to me that there was supposed to be any difference with other races or colours. I'd not noticed. Yet, even to this day, I am shocked that the country had me loving space through the moon landings could be so petty over something that does not matter. And in the 20th century! Yet my fav group as a kid was the Jackson Five; I saw them as I'd see anyone.
Yet the racism after reading Roots, made me loathe America for the rest of my childhood.
Your poem proves that one man can make a difference in such cultures. |

Joyce, this is a fitting tribute to our brother in Christ; to a man who matched his faith with mighty actions, giving His Lord Jesus all the glory.
May your poem and his life inspire us to do likewise.
