True love breaks down the defenses of a guarded heart
|
Sordid images convulse & writhe/
betrayal's child/
having fermented over time/
& with redundancy/
now it finds/
acts of devotion/
akin/
to an excorsistic rite/
protesting mightily/
succumbing/
reluctantly/
to the existential reality of light/
& the ability of love to revive/
even a heart/
that's flat-lined...

I love the immediacy and power of these few words to evoke emotion. Beautiful work.
