I wrote a letter to you today
and in it I had much to say.
It was a message from within my heart
stating that true love shall never part.

And physically though I’ve not been with you
there is a connection that does hold true .
And though this letter you may never see
along life's journey I hope you think of me.

To feel the closeness of your heart to mine
beating together immortal through time.
An opening of feelings never felt before
that you made possible by opening a door.

You breathed the life back into me
and loving eyes is what I did see.
A gentle moment from long ago
gave rise to hope that set me aglow.

To feel the soul and the closeness wrought
comes understanding that has been taught.
From back in time when I saw your smile
that kindness stayed with me all this while.

For I shall love you through all time
even though not once were you ever mine.
And so this letter I write today
reflects all the things I wanted to say.
