I am just finishing a book called, "The Four Agreements," By Don Micuel Ruiz. This book was suggested to me by a friend when I went through a very dark storm recently and it has changed my life by another level :-)

My upside down smile is not seen by most,
It’s not meant to be, it’s a private affair.
This is when I go deep inside wondering,
The moment my confidence fades into the shadows,
I share my horrors with the Spirit in this time of silence.
This second of diving into self-pity born by fear,
Fear of not being on my path, the journey that I picked.
Crushing criticism by the judge I have created.
An agreement I have not broken as of yet.
Purification tears run down my burning cheeks.
This holy hell is a true blessing in disguise.
Inside the Spirit holds me while I cry,
Slowly I create a new agreement to release the old.
It completely washes away another dark moment,
Bringing the smile back and my awareness is growing.

| EMBRACE OUR EXPERIENCES AND USE THEM AS STEPPING STONES TO A BRIGHTER AND BETTER TOMORROW. BECAUSE AFTER ALL, THE WORD OF GOD IS NEVER WRONG AND IT SAYS, 'ALL' THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED FOR HIS PURPOSE. WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLD...BUT WE DO KNOW WHO HOLDS OUR HAND. GOD BLESS YOU, KATE. THIS IS AN AWESOME INSPIRATIONAL WORK. VERY MUCH ENJOYED. I WILL KEEP THIS ONE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |

| Not sure I am right/write(?) with the world as of yet, even though I am in my second life after the loss of my old one 3 years ago, but sometimes I seem to see or maybe its just sense that I AM getting somewhat more or maybe its less, at the very least, judgemental, allowing a "higher" power to pass judgement...Find Peace, young lady, Ed |

in the dark that is darker than darkest dark, out of that shadiest shadow of being, comes a quickening spirit to renew the light of life, and it is in these dark moments where sobs, sighs, groans and other outward expressions of inner yearnings break through our veneers that reserves of inner strength well up to wash away our tears... your poem attests to this and more... a suffering borne of suffering, broken by the strength of that suffering and still long-sufferingly strong enough to out-suffer the most suffering sufferer... let your poem be a beacon of resilience... a balm in the most gall-stricken Gilead...
I love the hope in the last line: "Bringing the smile back and my awareness is growing." Wonderful poem, Kate.
