What do you feel,
Cat beside me,
As we sit
Looking into the night?

Cool, delicious breezes
From a day of monsoon-delight
Have wetted arid land,
Creating an opposite
To other seasons-day.

What do you hear,
My cat beside me,
As babies develop
In your belly, tonight?

Burbling chirps of time's happiness
Bursts into a chorus! Wisps
Of flower scents tickle my ears,
Slip past my nose, in deliciously
Different directioned day.

What do you see,
Young mother beside me,
As we dreamily gaze
Into the freshened night?

Sweet, sensual caresses
Stroking away mind’s desert-dry
Rains, old barren flayings
Of planetary differences
Occurring every day?

What will you bleed, my cat,
As storm clouds shiver
And thunder reveres
Kittens born into night?

I can really feel this. We have a couple of cats who are quite mouthy and then there's Ned (Bloop)who sits and stares into my eyes, pupils dilated beyond dilation...I wonder what he is thinking and what he would say....

I love this poem, portraying the bridge between all creatures. I've often wondered what my cat was thinking.

She sees and hears mice and birds scurrying under the cacti. But she does not leave your side to hunt because she is well fed by you and enjoys your warmth and protection for her kittens' sake.

Beside you they sit as they are very intuitive and feel comforted by your presence. Only to put your hand gently on them you will feel the immense joy of them and what grows inside.

Lovely thoughts
