Don't Throw It Away

I started to paint a picture

Adding a dab here and there.

Just let my mind wander,

And let the colors flow free..

Didn't look like much when finished,

Many colors but no symetry.

Years later I gave it away-

Surprised someone wanted it.

One day while at an art gathering,

A crowd gathered around a painting.

I heard different opinions,

But was unable to see.

What a surprise when I viewed it

To find it was mine on display.

Goes to show how poor an artist can be,

When judging his own works of art.

To be viewed in another's eyes, should mirror our own...

Much appreciation of your art, my friend...

Too true and I have LOVED what you sent me and consider it as valuable in my own eyes as anything I've witnessed in the Guggenheim; I still have it in my Hotmail inbox to thank you for! :)) It is a person of humility and great grace who can grow more amazed the more successful s/he becomes in the world's eyes. Points well made here, George. xx

For everyone the perception is different, especially with art, a painting, poetry, a piece of music or whatever.
We see the shortcomings of our own work, others see the greatness of it.

Sometimes we can't see our own hidden talents. It takes others to point them out to us.
