lies and lullabys

i wrote this nearly four years ago. My friend lost her mom and i wrote it for her.

 Mommy lied

when daddy died

she told her children

that she no longer

could sing

Three years later

lying in a hospital bed

Mommy told her children

she had to say goodbye

after she said goodbye

they asked if she could sing

her last lullaby

Mommy lied as

she died

her last breath

she took she told

them to listen

in the night

to follow the memory

of mommys first lullaby

In the night her children

took to the darkness of the forest

they heard her lullaby

that very night her children

disappeared from the light

into the forest of lies and lullabys

Kayla,
Beautiful~~!!!! A friend of my brothers just lost his beautiful wife and the baby she was carrying in a auto accident. So tragic.

There's a dark tale here somewhere… perhaps a short story.
