ANGER IN A WOMAN'S EYES


what is it about anger in a woman’s eyes?
that white-hot, furious fire which burns
as though it will consume a man to ash?
i think she is most beautiful when her
rage is barely suppressed, her full lips
are silent and her eyes flash vehemence
that can slash like a rapier to my heart


it makes me glad she is alive, passionate
a goddess at whose shrine i must worship
or suffer the consequences of her wrath
it causes me to want to kiss her lips, neck
and shoulders until the steel of her heart
melts into a mass of molten desire and her
silent recriminations become open invitations


oh baby, don’t be angry, not for too long
let me kiss away the angst and displeasure
take you to that special place for lovers
where fury is forgotten in passion’s palace
and the night is alive with primal sounds
of deep womanly moans of your pleasure
must i be stern; do i need to spank you?
