Hard Candy Shell

Some of you might remember when i wrote this although to be honest i didn't know the story myself till much later, its really about my daughter

I"m like an M&M
Those little chocolate candies
I have a hard outer shell
I won't melt
In your hands
No matter how fragile i sometimes
Seem
The richness inside me
Won't come oozing out to
Spoil your nice white
Linen
I have a hard outer shell
Words, your words
Can no longer destroy me
They may change my
Outer color
From red to green or blue
But it won't rub off on you
I have an hard outer shell
It may look soft
Maybe even inviting
But don't be fooled for a minute
That sweetness can be decieving
Ask anyone who tried to take a bite
Without
Being properly invited
Do you hear me baby
I have a hard outer shell
I won't melt in your hands
Any more

Sue, I can understand these feelings. But they are so hard to maintain with someone you love. Bill
