My love,
He pushes,
He prods,
He won’t stop,
Till we go for our walk…
Thinking it will drive the gloom
Out of my heart,
If he could just get me out of the room…
It is nightfall when I finally agree,
More to make him quiet,
Then any beach I want to see…
So we go hand in hand,
Though I am so mad at this man…
But the stars are out,
And I soon forget to pout,
For the moon is shinning down,
Lighting our path as we make our way around
The rocks and cracks,
And he tenderly touches my back,
To guide and save me,
Should I not see,
The crevice in front of me…
We finally reach the sand,
And the ocean is softly lapping the shores,
The fish are jumping tonight,
And I soon forget our fight,
As we walk along in the lovely moonlight…
Suddenly from the dark we hear a splash,
And see the pod of dolphins crash
Into the breaking waves,
And it is a picture I wish I could save,
For they are so beautiful as they play,
Can’t help but think what a lovely way
This is to end the day…
He turns and faces me,
And I look into his eyes and see,
How much love and hope he shows-
I love him…this he knows,
But just in case I tell him anyway,
“Thank you,” I whisper into his ear,
“For bringing me here…”
He does not say a word,
Merely lifted my chin to kiss
My waiting lips in the gentle mist
That sprays us both and I don’t miss
The rapid beating of his heart,
Knowing we shall never part,
“No matter what you ever do,”
I whisper softly,
“My heart belongs to you…”
