axis of evil

in october it was the remains of 11
undocumented workers found in a grain car in Iowa. in may 18 suffocated in a tractor trailer in Victoria, Texas.

i find that i am as angry about this as i have been angry at anything is half a dozen years . . .

you closed the door,
latched it—the refrigerated
trailer was about to become an oven
under the south Texas sun
– but what was that to you?
you had your money –
and they were just “illegals”

Manuel didn’t show
for work so you hired
Choocho.
Mexicans are always
getting caught and deported–
as long as INS don’t
catch them working for
you it is a good deal.

they work cheap,
they can’t complain
and with your balance
sheet you need them.
if a few get killed trying
to enter the country
that is nothing to you
besides, they’re just “illegals”

you are concerned
with keeping the
border secure – but
it’s worth your while
to provide cheap labour –
i don’t mean to imply
that you’re on the take
it’s just worth your while

i do not know which of
you is the greatest evil
procurer, employer,
two faced official.
but together you form a true
axis of evil: petty, venial
homegrown despots
trafficking in human flesh...

john i couldn't agree with you more my friend,,
we have the same thing here in england,, poor refugees smuggleed into the country by moneyhungry flesh traffiers they don't care about the hardships or discomfort that these people have to endure as long as they get paid up front.. and if some should die along the way well they paid already, it makes you sick doesn't it..
well written john thank you.

It is unfathomable to me how anyone could do this, John. We have many such horror stories here in Arizona, also, mostly deaths from trying to walk the desert to a distant city for the oppurtunity to work and send money home to family. Arizona now has watering stations along the usual routes where Coyotes send there "victims". It may seem it helps to bring illegals into this country, and that may be, but to die of dehydration in a desperate attempt to save their destitute families lives in Mexico is too horrible a fate to consider. I cannot condemn these people of poverty for that. Strong, powerful write.

outstanding, needed write...this should be required reading for all immigration services and border patrol workers...and anyone caught trafficking humans--well done
(((HUGS))) and love,

karla. :(
