Saturday at the Park
by cj

Saturday at the Park
we saw the parade
and flew the flag
and blew the bugle
we saluted the dead

we rented a boat
and sailed on a lake
then fell apon a sunny
day for a picnic lunch

Dusk approached
we felt alone
as the sun set
and we were left
a starry night
a sudden fright
an absolute
a forbidden fruit

a wonderous day
a frightful night

we saw the light
we hid the dark
we feared our
youth

a starry night
without moon light
an obsolete
delectible delight

we celebrate
Saturday at the Park

we grasped
and held on tight
followed a musing
pied pipers` flute

we acquiesed
which was best
for all concerned
a lover's truce
forget the past

Saturday's for Lovers
searching for starry
nights and pied piper
dreams of another

Saturday at the Park
