The most ordinary things in life
Are extraordinary
No riches in the world
Can buy these ordinary things

Aroma of the rose
Smile of the sun
Song of the birds
Rainbow in the sky

Can you buy the rainbow?
Can you buy the smile of the sun?
Can you buy the song of the birds?
Can you buy the aroma of the rose?

No you cannot

So, accept ordinary things in life
Because they are not ordinary
They are very extraordinary things
Presented to us by the almighty

Can you buy the pristine dew?
Can you buy the full moon night?
Can you buy the salubrious zephyr?
Can you buy the flash of the lightning?

No you cannot

No man is rich enough
To buy these things
But even a pauper
Can enjoy them for free

So, don’t complain
That you don’t have a car to ride
Because there are millions, who have never seen the car
Call yourself fortunate that you have seen the car

Learn to accept and appreciate
Those things that are nearer to you
And those things that are ordinary
Because, only our thinking makes them extraordinary

For the sage,
A car is nothing
More than the means of transportation
But for others it is the symbol of prosperity

Happiness is inbuilt
You cannot buy happiness
Money is not the source of happiness
It is just an input to the happiness

I agree, we need money
For our survival, but it is not
The only thing we need for our survival
Tell me how can we subsist without love

We all are
Running after money
Leaving love far behind
In the passage of circular time

Is it because?
We are addicted to money
Or is it because
Money is the religion of the modern world

Are we born?
Just to earn money
Is it our only goal?
Is it the reason of our survival?

Aren’t we born?
To soothe
The heart of the humanity
By sharing compassion and love

Bhuwan,

This is very meaningful. It brings back times when everything was new and wonderful. We see, enjoy, and marvel over these things more when we are small children.

That why the Bible says,"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."

You sure do come up with some very spiritual writes, Bhuwan!

Now lad you are heading skyways so fast, that they will be paying you just to write poetry.
Question is. what will you write then, donít I ask some awkward questions.
But seeing that itís the only way I will ever find out. I have to ask them.
Good stuff, well done.

Bhuwan: Yes, the best things in life are free. You truly can't buy happiness. True happiness comes when one reaches the point in one's life that she/he discovers this fact. I have spent years of my life chasing after material happiness. It does not exist. Money can certainly provide for our basic needs, and even increase our comfort level. Thank you so much for sharing this "Extraordinary" poem. Your mind is one of simplistic beauty, which radiates extraordinary wisdom at such a young age.

One can easily become addicted to your extraordinary poetry, Bhuwan. Yes... it's when we find ourselves addicted to extraordinary things like "the pristine dew, the rainbow, the aroma of the rose" and, through this, addicted to love - the ultimately extraordinary gift - that we are truly rich... and truly alive.
