Haunted Dreams

These dreams haunt me
they can never be
reality

They speak when I sleep
and become quiet
awakening

These feelings torment me
things I can’t be
painfully

These dreams astound me
they seem so real
incredibly

They touch what I can’t feel
and become numbing
pathetically

These dreams haunt me
they deceive my senses
stealthily

These walls surround me
imprisoning my reason
insanely

These chains I carry
into my sleep
clattering

These dreams are death
and I am dying
haunted

Dale, I loved not only the words, but the pattern of this poem, how each ends in a one word descriptive of the stanza. Excellent!! You sir, need to post more of these on other sites for us all to enjoy! HUGSSSS
