Snow-Drizzle Magic

It looked like snow,
I thought it was.
I went outside to check. So fine
as to be invisible, I still must peer,
through eyes growing old,
to the huge pine
streeted above. Not sure
if it was drizzle or snow,
I pressed my nose
past patio’s edge
and watched it fall to the ground!
A snowflake large,
and pinkish, too,
it lay just out of reach.,
you see, I didn’t want to get wet,
I’m much too staid for that!
I snorted, ‘bah’, and leaned a bit,
reached slowly through the cold,
I wasn’t surprised
seeing my hand, lying beside my nose!
I stood up straight, laughed at myself,
minus a nose and a hand.
I shook my shoulders,
took a deep breathe and
jumped out into the
drizzle of rain
or the fizzle of snow,
it mattered not,
enfolded by weeping,
embraced by the cold,
my hand grabbed my nose
and I grabbed my hand
and we danced and we pranced
all around my small land,
just because…
It looked like snow,
I think it was.

What a fun poem with which to start my day, Erin!! It takes a different kind of mind to write like this, and lots of poets have it!
Great fun, Erin! |

| There is something magical about snow. My eldest daughter is crazy about snow and she gets that from me. Thank you for this delightful offering, Erin. Love and peace to you, Regis. |

| Erin you did a snow and rain dance, then poemed it, thanks for the most interesting winter read. I'm getting ready to do a 20 degree dance out the door home. Our snow failed. cheers G |
