I had a few moments before the garden tour began to sit and enjoy my lavish garden surroundings. I actually felt at peace and completely relaxed. The garden was inspiring and uplifting to both my mind and overall well-being. My designated artist’s spot was called the Orchid & Iris Room. It was utterly breathtaking. The entire surrounding garden was filled with blooming flowers of every spectacular color and they actually danced slightly in the subtle breeze orchestrated through the trees. Birds chirped high above in the Oak trees. I spotted a few butterflies seeking out the best blooms. And I was actually alerted by an interested wild turkey who poked his head around a corner to check out the day’s event.
I really felt that the garden was reminiscent of the novel The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett complete with a great garden swing. This book was one of my favorite stories when I was a child and even today. I have to admit that I stole a ride on that swing in the garden. How could I not? What an incredible opportunity for a writer to be able to spend the day in a modern Garden of Eden to chat with garden adventurers and avid book readers. It was a perfect combination and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Aromas Hills Artisans Country Garden Tour, the talented artists in the gardens, and the thriller fans who purchased a copy of My Novel "Compulsion. What a great day!
Thanks,
Jennifer
