I attended college in 1999 and graduated in 2003. I had two four year degrees from Penn State. I moved back to N.J. after graduation and did not have employment. When I graduated, I had become closer to God and had begin to truly understand why a relationship with Him was needed in my life.
I begin going to the unemployment office sending out three resumes per day. I was determined to get a job. I would pray, read my bible, and fast on a daily basis so that I can hear from God. During this time of searching and unemployment, I did not worry about having a job because I knew God would take care of me. The bible says "Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and ALL things shall be added to you." So, I sought the Kingdom.
While I was sending my resumes, I also would go to the parks and witness to other people about Christ. Approximately, one month later, I received a call for employment with a company similar to the company I used to work for while I was a college student. I started working there. I then applied for another job that had more pay. I asked God for it in prayer and He answered my prayer. I soon started working at the new place in NJ.
While at the new place, I was on a probation period for 90 days. On this job, there was a lot of gossiping among the staff and the atmosphere was not healthy. I was soon told by my supervisor that she didn't believe that "I could fly." I was then released from the job. I went home and cried out before the Lord. I prayed and fast again.
I remember going to see the play by Tyler Perry "Madea's Class Reunion." There was a part in the play that mentioned an older woman being fired from her job. Soon, this woman owed part of the job. The movie really encouraged me. I continued to submit my resumes and prayed daily. I was told one day by someone at the unemployment building that there was one spot left for a teacher position for an outreach. I applied for the job and was immediately hired. I was hired for the job a week after I was fired. One week is 7 days. Seven is the number of perfection. The job was the job God had set out for me.
The new job allowed me to only have to work four hours a day and I was paid $20 an hour. I loved the job. It allowed me to teach women who receive governement assistance basic reading, writing, and math skills. I also taught them job related skills (i.e. interviewing). I was there for a while.
God soon opened up a better door with social services. I recieved great benefits. I currently work for social services in VA now while trying to get my nonprofit organization (Kingdom Expansion Enterprises Inc) and my speaking/writing business off the ground. God has blessed me with employement. Since getting our of college, I have not stopped working. By the way, I moved to VA to get married and didn't have ajob immediately. I moved down to VA by faith believing that I would get a job. Fifteen days later, I received a job. ISN'T GOD GOOD???
If you don't know HIM, You need to. He loves you and wants to know you. He is my provider and can be yours today!
