Just a little story about treating people the way you would want to be treated.
Necessary Words
Hello to all my friends, fans, and readers here at AD. I was sitting here thinking about something my wife and I started doing about 10 years ago. We had moved to Arkansas five years earlier, and our favorite thing to eat was mexican food. We found this little mexican restaurant, and being from California we were accustomed to good mexican food. So we tried this restaurant, and we both agreed that it was the best food we had ever eaten. I asked the waiter if the manager was in. The waiter was limited on his english, but he finally understood. He had a look on his face as though there was something wrong, and said he would go get him. When the manager came to the table he said, hello, my name is Alex, is there something wrong sir? I said, no, there is nothing wrong, I just wanted to let you know this is the best mexican food we have ever eaten, and the waiter is doing an excellent job. Alex replied, I am not use to this, most people who want to speak to the manager only have complaints. Thank you very much. You know, this made me feel good. Most of the time now, we get our food to go, but, I will call the restaurtant if the food was extremely good to let them know how good it was. I will call them too, if something is not right or the food was not good, but that doesn't happen very often.
I liken this to our stories and poems. We need the readers reviews to let us know if it is satisfactory or not. This is the only thing we can gauge our work on. It's hard to grow as an author, if you don't know what the readers think of your work. These reviews are deeply appreciated.
Thank you for reading this story, and please let me know how you feel. As a reader, creating an account on AD does not cost you anything nor will you receive unwanted junk mail. May God bless you every day of your life.

God has done a great work in you, Daniel Keith. He has given you a heart of praise and compassion. When my daughter Amy has to speak with someone at a company by phone, she will often ask for the person's supervisor just to commend the person who handled her call. I love that in her!

it seems an interesting truth- that it is easier to complain then to compliment -and bring cheer to another. you are so right, so glad the waiter shared with you the importance in your words, as you have shared with us-

| You are absolutely right. People are in general very fast in complaining and ruin others people day because there are definately different ways in colmplaining as well. Everyone should try to at least once every day say something positiv to others. This way you make others people´s day and it makes you feel good as well. It´s just so wonderful to see people smile because of a positive feedback. It´s so easy! It´s makes a better world, at least for a moment... But many of theses moments can make a difference!!1 |

| THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR FEELINGS DANIEL AND YOU AND YOUR WIFE, OF COURSE, DID THE RIGHT THING. IF ONE CAN COMPLAIN WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT GOOD...ONE SHOULD BE JUST AS QUICK TO COMPLIMENT WHEN SOMETHING IS GOOD AND YOU'VE ENJOYED IT. WELL DONE MESSAGE. THANKS FOR SHARING...LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |

This is a fine message, Daniel. It is true that people like to be appreciated and validated and often, this leads to wonderful friendships and relationships on many levels. Love and blessings to you, friend.

Nicely done, Daniel, and you're absolutely right! Most people don't take the time to offer positive feedback...however if something is wrong with the service/whatever...they don't seem to hesitate to offer negative criticism...I'm with you! I love handing out goodwill,it doesn't cost me a cent, and it feels so good!I have learned to avoid negative people in life....they only bring me down..and I refuse to let that happen....must be something to do with age and wisedom...giggle....at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Hugs,
Anna |
