A night stand lamp lay broken. Examining it at a closer range it looked hopeless. The lamp seemed useless, never to shine again. Pacing the floor, and looking at the broken lamp, the mere thought of not having that light to read and study was very unstettling. Getting rid of the entire night stand, it seemed to be the solution. Yet deep within a ray of hope, which said pick up the broken lamp, hlod it in your hand, and turn the lamp's light on. Instantly and miraculously the light shone brighter than ever before, in spite of it's lamp shade being broken.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 and it reads " Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven." We are like the broken lamp, experiencing the grief of losing loved ones. Hearing the chilling diagnosis of the Doctor's report saying to you, your child may never walk, or talk and will not be able to read or write. There is yet another situation, where you become gravlely ill and the Doctor make the announcement that there is absolutely nothing more that they can do. Like the broken lamp you lay there broken, yet the light that is on the inside is still intact. There is a desperate cry to your Abba Father to comfort your grieving, broken heart, and to heal your sick body! With a strong enduring faith, day after day, hope is building and suddenly as you lay there broken, with your faith remaining, and the word keeping you alive in spite of your circumstances. The word speaks from Isaiah 60:1 saying " Arise, shine for the light has come, and the golry of the Lord is rise upon you." Instantly the word becomes spirit and life. Your grief stricken heart is healed, your child is walking and is able to write a little. Yes your body is also miraculously healed. Just as you placed the broken lamp in your hands, and turned it's light on, God your Abba Father picked you up and turned your darkness into light. Giving to you joy for all of your sorrow, and healing for your sickness, with restoration for your entire household.
The broken lamp is shininfg brighter and radiantly than ever before. I challenge you to hold on in the midst of your brokenness, hold on with the pain you maybe experiencing, at this very moment. In spite of the many challenges that you are faced with in your marriage, and with your children, trust God as you go through your brokenness. Cry out to Abba Father, He will rescue you, and like the broken lamp, you will shine brighter in spite what you are going through. The Master's hands are holding you, and He will take you safely through.
