Big Sister, Little Sister

--So, Big Sister, you are a goddess?"
The only answer was a merry chuckle.
--That's not an answer!
--What is a god or a goddess? There are many. Men and women create them all the time."
--Then what are your?
--I am divine.
--Then you're a goddess?
--No. What you mean might be called divinity. Most people create a goddess to get their own way.
--Are you the Divinity then?
--I am part of the Divinity, and the Divinity is part of me but I am not The Divinity .
--You are trying to confuse me!
--You are asking questions for which you have no language to hear the answer.
You call me Big Sister and honour me with your life. That is enough. I sought you out and you would not know me if I did not make myself known to you. You could not know me no
matter what you did if I did not make myself known.
Others call me Goddess and "honour" me with the blood of children or seek me by throwing some hapless virgin, or youth into one of my wells.
--Why don't you tell them to stop?
--We try. But once men and women make up their minds about GOD, Divinity has a hard time making itself heard.
--Why don't you just destroy them? Flood, brimstone, dragons...
--It's not allowed. Besides what would you have us do? Destroy the entire world?
Oh we destroy the most offensive cults as soon as we can. As soon as we can get men and women to do the job. But it is hit and miss but that is the way it must be.
--Then you have no power.
--We have power: the power to heal, the power of what you feel for Ivana and for Creuse. The power of an acorn, the power of light , and justice. The power we do not have is the power to make human beings understand the power that we do have.
--My head hurts.
--Serves you right, Little Sister.
