Why did I call this column: "More Than Wild Sex?" For one reason, no one cares about the political loyalty of the person they think they have a chance of having sex with at a out of control Mardi Gras event with
girls and guys gone wild.
So with that same type of "mutual satisfaction" mentality in mind--a mentality that is framed by common sense, not party politics--let's "disrobe and strip ourselves of " ALL political hats for a moment, and look inside the hearts of all of the candidates.
Whomever is elected, let's think about our young peoples' future and let them know they can win...there's a winner in ALL of them.
As a conversation starter on something that will effect us all...the 2008 Presidential Convention....I'd like to break rank from business and let's talk about February and starting something we might call,
"The Love Assignments."
Continuing from this point is completely voluntary. Just like America....our voting is a matter of "choice." But let's remember that even as we choose, we must choose based on the inner convictions, not the outer comfort zones of those we elect as ONE body of people.
Are you ready? Here we go with
blessin's, and keep sharing the message of hopes, dreams, and possibility for every America blessed to be on this earth at this very special historic time.
And regardless of one's "Politics"...just another fancy word for orchestrated beliefs, please consider
"Love Assignment Two" ...but first, a third party author creating her own black history:
Martha "Marti" Tucker.
Viewing the supporter-created video of Barack Obama's primary night speech from New Hampshire.
Check it out but FIRST read author Martha "Marti" Tucker's letter. Marti won the coveted 2007 Cush City Book Award for Best New Author. The video that should warm your heart to be more loving is at the end of Marti's letter, and a very special response from her friend, Michelle.
Below is a copy of a letter written by my friend and sister in "Women Entreprenuers of America Int'l Inc." Marti Tucker. She is the author of "The Mayor's Wife Wore Sapphires" and Winner of Cushcity.com 2007 Best New Author Award.
Note her comments on a very special video that promotes us all as one people. Besides, isn't that what "Love Month"....Black History Month... is all about? Loving people for whom they are on the inside and what they are capable of becoming, with hope, support, and a chance to say--"Let's make a difference?"
Friends, brothers and sisters of "The Den"....Keep sharing the message of hopes, dreams, and possibility for every America blessed to be on this earth at this very special historic time.
The only thing sharing a Coke and a smile ever did was give us more gas and bloat. Washington needs no more of neither. We need harmony with hard politics. We need peace with persistence. So don't have a Coke; Get out and VOTE!
Let's all join together, make history for all people, and say "YES WE CAN!
Here is Marti's letter she sent to me below that I'm sharing with as many authors here who will read it with a mind of "Oneness" in our diversity.
blessin's, cynth'ya
Dear Fellow Writers,
God gives all of us an assignment on earth, and Barack Obama has his. I'm certain you all know how the New Image Writer's Association and Bus Tour touched hearts in October of 2007 when we went out with our Obama-type characters.
We were so desperate to show African Americans in a NEW IMAGE around the world--working people with hopes and aspirations for
education, jobs and position.
We wanted the media to show us doing something beside being comedians, selling drugs, and having wild sex on tables. Yes, we're
that [in the media]
but we were so much more.
We wanted the positives to replace the
negatives we almost always see of ourselves in the media. We wanted to give our children an image to aspire to.
When we took off on that bus, the New Image Writers had written a female lawyer, a poet gave us a Black man who respected a Black women, and a female psychologist searched for truth, another poet read about the
wonder and complexity of brown hands, and another writer read from her Christian
values. I gave them my complex Black mayor's wife.
People cheered when that bus rolled through the streets, sharing pictures that were only in our imagination.
But then a wonderful thing happened.
We started getting images of that character on TV. He began to appear more and more frequently.
He was trim, clean cut and energetic. He was Ivy League educated, and a family man, who showed love and respect for his wife and two
lovely daughters.
He made no issue of race, but talked of hope and unity.
Who was this man? Here was our three-dimensional character, offering an image that no other candidate could. That man was Barack Obama.
Finally, in December (2007), he had become a three-dimensional character. We knew he was left handed, and occasionally stole a smoke. His speech patterns perched, then spoke. He was always well put together.
In January (2008), he won IOWA! Now the new image of a Black man took on heroic proportions. With all candidates, except one, he was in a on-on-one debate. In that debate, he made an indelible mark as a statesman.
He triumphed over all who said he wasn't ready. That had to be a Herculean task, but he seemed well prepared and relaxed, even if tired beyond
appearances.
Now, my friends, it is our turn. We have to take him across the goal line.
Go out and vote on Tuesday. WALK. RIDE. CRAWL. FLY. However you get to the polls will give America and Democracy what they need the most--proof of their verity.
The truth of their existence. And no one can prove America to be a living, breathing Democracy but one--
Barack Obama.
I thank you, and trust that you know the respect and image Obama bring to America. It is beyond measure, evoking a sense of healing and
equity, not of law, but of spirit.
This is a shining moment in American history, as
he is a shining star to many African Americans. You can help to shape the course of history now.
Thank you again.

A friend sent me this video over the weekend.
After nearly a year on the campaign trail, I've seen a lot of things that have touched me deeply, but I had to share this with you:
Sharing this video, which was created by supporters, is one more way to help start a conversation with your friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else who will be voting soon about the issues important to them
in this election.
Right now people like you are making phone calls, emailing friends, and doing everything they can to reach voters before the big vote
tomorrow.(FEB. 5, 2008)
This is our moment -- please do what you can to help.
Thank you so much,
Michelle
