True story: There were two identical twin brothers (Richard & George) in midlife covered on Dateline with Stone Phillips. They used two different hair growth approaches because they were losing their hair. Sense of loss is a great motivator for people to try something new if they truly believe change is possible.

A doctor from the University of Miami dermatology department evaluated the hair loss of both twins. Richard is taking Propecia, which costs $50 a month. The manufacturers say that for most, 66% grow some hair. They also say from their research that 83% of Propecia users maintain their current amount of hair. In other words, it didn’t improve their situation, but it stayed the same for an undetermined length of time. (A lot of things can affect hair loss. . . stress, disease, pregnancy, etc.)

But what is great about using this story as an example of how people desire or hope for change if the change does not happen as they expect. A lot of people in network marketing can relate to what Richard is quoted below by saying…in case his Propecia does not work to his satisfaction:

When the interviewer asked Richard if it would be tough for him to deal with his brother George’s success if George’s method of hair growth produced more hair than the method Richard chose. This was Richard’s response:

”No that’s fine, because I mean, what a better way to look at yourself and see that there’s probably a greater improvement by trying plan B, because I can just try his approach, and it should work on me.”

There have been people who have tried to have their own business, got hurt, got left behind, got ignored, or the company left them. They are afraid to try something new.

From my own business decision point of view...it took me six months to figure out that I was running away from the obvious. I refused to change my mindset. And while I refused to change about how the world of economy is now online forever, others missed out on the knowledge I could have shared because of my own fear of myself.

But this is what this hairy story meant to me: If ONE man is willing to try something that costs the same as my owning a YTB booking engine, and he can’t write off his hair pills, and his hair pills can't justify him leaving a better quality of financial existence by benefiting from over 422 write offs….why should I get upset if I'm in a business that people refuse to see how they can get paid for, by going over the river and thru the woods to Grandma's house for Christmas and staying in a hotel, tax deductible, for less money?

So no matter what you do, no matter where you work (or used to work) if they don't treat you like part of their family, get out, and find something to change your life. Life is just way too short to Mickey Mouse around with your future. Especially now.

Go ahead and call me preachy, but my daddy was a preacher so it's genetic. At least the word has gone out, and I can say, "didn't you read about when it was written?"

Opportunities are said not to go away. They go to people with open hearts and active minds. They also go to people not-so-bright who take time to look. We can all think of those "thin thread" opportunities that we ignored and looked back and said "I shoulda!" or worse this time next year.

People truly are losing money by not realizing there are ways to grow it that are right under their nose. But they complicate the simple, and miss the blessing. But the neat thing about opportunity is that it twists no arms, it just offers possible solutions.

Most miss those solutions because people look for an easy path. People will choose to conquer their fear, or smother in it. And it's still not illegal to think in America (yet.) All we know is what we've looked for since 1984, we found over 24 years later. But because people don't find what they are looking for in one thing doesn't mean what they need doesn't exist.

WE almost gave up because of our skepticism. But being a skeptic won't pay our bills. Being a researcher will show what's for one, might be for someone else. And on the other hand, maybe not.

It's people who refuse to look that miss out on knowing if something is, or is not for them. And if not for them, maybe it blesses a friend.

People should never fear looking, unless they fear facing the hurt from the past, and dealing with it. We are either a lock, or a key. One can't exist without the other. 

Owning one's own business has always been the best way to deal with a sour economy, as long as that business has the support it needs to take a family back to where it belongs...debt-controlled and even debt-free if they are willing to do the work for themselves--just like for a boss who let them go.
