I still can’t believe how foolish I’d initially been, in allowing myself to believe that nothing would change; well at least I thought not for me. I didn’t know any better! My father always taught me that real men go out to work, while the ladies stays at home to look after the kids. A cliché I know, but isn’t that how life sometimes is, just one big cliché. And no matter how distasteful, archaic, or even caveman like these attitudes are, they still exist. To be completely honest my whole life experience taught me to expect one thing; to have my cake and eat it; but instead I had my cake and choked on it. The notion that I would be left in charge with the complete care of Leo, and Anna would welcome it, was something I had never dreamed of or expected.
