In this episode, Lois Lane and her intended share a quite moment in his penthouse before attending the Wayne Foundation's charity ball.

The blazing fire in the fireplace dispelled the shadows began to darken a room in Lex's penthouse later that afternoon.

Sitting in a white slip at the vanity, her fingers played with the strand of pearls around her neck. She didn't even notice her perfectly styled bob, impeccable makeup and feminine figure reflected in the oval mirror.

Coming up behind her, Lex's, who was already dressed, measured the ends of his bow tie before tying it, image appeared in the glass. Noting the far off expression etched on her face, he caressed her smooth shoulders. "What's wrong, darling?" He whispered.

Looking at him over her shoulder, his fiancée said softly, "I thought you told me you weren't going to buy the Planet."

"You know as well as I do that the Planet has not been doing well for almost a year now so I offered to buy it so you'd always have a place to work."

Not only did it state a fact but his answer made sense.

Still something about his statement that she couldn't pinpoint bothered her. She didn't know if Clark's arguments that her fiancé had a shady side were finally getting to her. Clark reminded her that she was an investigative reporter and not let love blind her but to ask questions about all of Luthor's dealings.

Lois shook her head. She didn't have any proof that Clark's claims were true . So why was she doubting the man she'd be marrying in a few weeks because her investigative instincts were working on overdrive?

"You better finish getting dressed," he rasped huskily, kissing her cheek. "We don't want to be too late."

Hmnnn interesting and I would have been slightly insulted if my other half figured they had to buy the paper that my work would not speak for itself...and she seems pretty smart as most reporters are so instincts are kicking in...
