I was curious as to how to speak in tongues so I prayed about it and this was my answer.
Speaking In Tongues
I was curious about people who speak in tongues. I had read about it in the Bible, but I was not sure how to go about finding someone who actually spoke in tongues. I prayed on it and this was the answer I received. I was living in Las Vegas, Nevada and I was always looking for extra work. I was highly recommended for a house sitting job by a good friend of mine. I met the family who lived in a brand new 2 story home in a new subdivision of Vegas. It was a beautiful neighborhood with winding streets and the landscaping was immaculate. The family was very nice and I agreed to house sit for them for a month. They left their dog with me. He was a great comfort and good company for me. I would take him for a walk every night. It was during the holidays, so the air was brisk and clean. The moon shined down on us every night and being in the desert, I could hear a pin drop. I loved it. I passed by a fairly new church one day and wanted to attend. I went the following Sunday and it was a Christian church so I felt very comfortable. Everyone was very welcoming but when I was asked to stand and introduce myself, I was handed a brochure. The pastor was intending to build on a second story balcony in the main auditorium. They had just finished adding a school for the elementary age group. This bothered me, but I have an opened mind and heart so I sat and listened to the sermon. The sermon was about speaking in tongues and I did hear the pastor say a few words that did not make sense. I listened some more and he was talking in jibberish all through the sermon. At the end of the sermon, anyone who was interested in learning about talking in tongues was invited forward. I immediately got up and went to the front of the auditorium and was met by a woman who took me to a room off to one side. There were other people in the room, each with an appointed person to help explain the secret of talking in tongues. This woman explained that all I had to do was to close my eyes and whatever came to my lips, I should just let it roll off. I tried but I was unable to get my mouth to move. She suggested that I try it at home while alone. I left thinking that speaking in tongues was no big secret. This church believed that anyone could acheive this. I went home and got into bed. I left a small light on next to the bed. I closed my eyes and relaxed after saying a pray. My mouth immediately started to move and I was speaking jibberish! It went on for forty-five minutes before I could stop. My jaws were sore. I turned my head to the left and looked up just over the light and there he was in all his majestic glory. It was God! He was on a very large thorne and his whole body filled it. He was wearing dark blood red robes with white trim. He wore a crown of gold and he had a full mustache and beard. His hair was dark. He was leaning over and looking down at me and smiling! It was only a few seconds and then he was gone. I knew then that he had simply answered my prayer about speaking in tongues. The Bible does say that we should speak in tongues only in the presence of God, because he is the only one who can understand what we are saying. I went back to the church for Wednesday night prayer meeting. Before I knew what was happening the whole congregation was up and out of the pews, screaming and running around the auditorium, including the pastor. Whenever the pastor put his hands on someone, they immediately fell to the floor. I was the only one just standing there. The pastor never touched me. I was very uncomfortable and turned off by what was happening. I knew that I was not to attend this church. This church was just a part of God's Will to allow me to speak in tongues. I never went back.

| i think if i understood your story, that it was very interesting and i do believe that He puts situations directly in front of us to experience, if only for that moment...a shooting star, the stir of a night breeze on a hot evening or a new friend. |
