Just like that song from the seventies, "Everybody plays the fool sometimes". May be cruel, but Dave's gotta move on and appreciate what is. He must forget about what was not and can never be.

Ron what a sad and yet very well written story! Hope it was never true! I had an episode like this happen to me and I will never forget it! I dated this guy for over a year and then he pulled a "Colleen" one night and just said "I don't love you and I never will." Of course, he had been eyeing someone else anyway, but I was devastated for quite some time!! Your story is very fast moving and reads well also! Great job! Now I will think about my Dave dumping me the rest of the day! Boo-hoo! (Heh, His loss now though babe!) LOL, Caryn xo
