Silver and slate

She hung in the sky
tilted right,
Nickel in a slot
silver shining
as the greyest of clouds
crossed her coyly-hid face
but only for a moment
purple-slate background
setting the mood
for a nickel moon
on a lovers' night
in Nebraska
in the tall grass
I stand
waiting for you
watching
wanting
under a nickel moon
this lover's night
in Nebraska.
