Dear Members,
Welcome to the latest edition of our Newsletter. Please feel invited to Email Ted with any news for ensuing issues.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER Donations are coming due for those who wish to continue helping The Writing Forum. Yearly donations are a minimum of $25 USD and are due by May of each year. Contact Marcia for mailing instructions. Unless you operate a website the caliber of The Writing Forum you have no idea of the expenses involved in operation and maintaining such a site. They are astronomical and without the help of the Associate Membership annual dues it will be impossible to continue come June 1, 2009.
CONTRIBUTING POETS: Please put your name on the Subject line of your submissions. If you use a pseudonym put it first, and your real name in paranthesis. Sometimes submissions come through with just "Submission(s)" on the Subject line, and if your poems aren't signed, Marcia must go hunting by Email address to know who you are.
ANNOUNCING - Poet of the Month for APRIL 2009 - BONNIE MAY
THE VISITORS, Angels in Our Midst by Linda Law -- This wonderful book of true stories and poems by extraordinary people who have had positive resolution when times were difficult and dark, has quite a following! The first book, EXTRAORDINARY VISITS, Miracles Through Divine Intervention, has sold very well, and many of those wonderful readers have ordered the sequel. Both books are listed on The Writing Forum http://www.thewritingforum.net/html/our_member_s_pub__works.html#Law-Linda (bookstore) NOTE: SAVE SHIPPING & HANDLING when you Order directly from Linda Law, lindalaw226(at)yahoo.com and give her your correct mailing address and how many books you wish to receive. Each book will be signed (you may ask for a personal message) with a bookmark. The shipping and handling will be included!
Computer Virus Hits Marcia -- This virus completely disrupted Marcia's ability to do anything on the Internet. Worst news was that her McAfee did not identify nor address this virus. In one recent case, a computer protected by both Norton and McAfee was completely crashed by the Spyware Project 2009 virus (a trojan worm). Do not count on these old-line programs to adequately protect your computer from invasion by the newly-developed viruses. There are good virus/spyware/malware programs available for much less than the cost of either Norton or McAfee. AVG and BitDefender are highly recommended. Enjoy the Internet but stay safe.

MESSAGE CENTER FORUM
If you want to reply to an existing message click on it and it will pop up. Where it says AUTHOR - that's you - type in your name.
In the next box put in your Email address and click on the box next to it. For SUBJECT - in the case of a new message write the subject such as: Mary Smith's "Jack and Jill" - letting Mary know that she has a message. If you're replying to a message you don't need to put anything in the SUBJECT line. The original subject will be repeated. Just below the box where you type your message you'll see a small box asking you if you want to receive daily updates. Click on that box and the activity at the Forum for each day will be emailed to you latee that same evening and each evening following. You can unsubscribe to this feature at any time. It's a good way to keep abreast of new messages/replies without having to go to the website.
WEBSITE ADDITION - We have a selection of our members' book covers to illustrate the Our Book Store page. Different covers will be featured periodically. The page is limited in space so only five covers can be displayed at a time and those are selected by, believe it or not, picking names out of a bowl. Be sure you notify us when you have a new publication. Also notify us so your new publication will be featured in the next Newsletter.
- We'd like to know the month in which each of you were born so we can include a greeting for you in future issues.
- Let us know about new publications, book signings, weddings or other special events, acknowledgements/awards at other websites, vacation plans, news of any kind.
- We would also like to include a Recipe of the Month, especially those "secret" ones, ladies.
**ASSOCIATE MEMBER** When you see this title appended to the name of a TWF member, you are seeing a member who is voluntarily sending a contribution every year to help pay the substantial hosting costs for The Writing Forum. Our Domain Name, The Writing Forum, is “leased” for a yearly fee. Websites, the quality of ours, don't come free. We also pay to avoid all advertisements. Certain enhancements and special features also have a cost-per-year, including the ad-free Message Center/Forum. Marcia pays all of these costs each June, thanks to the help coming in from our ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. We truly could not continue without their steadfast assistance. It appears that there are some members who think it's a one-time donation when actually it's a yearly donation of a minimum of $25.00. The Associate Membership fee should be sent by each April or May in order for the funds to be available on June 1. Money Orders from other countries than the US must state, "Payable in US Funds". Checks, money orders, or good old cash may be mailed to Marcia -- contact her by email and she will send you the mailing address.
